Orthodox means "pure"....the pure Church. Eastern Orthodox tend to be Amillennial, Episcopal and Sacramental. They use the Apocrypha but can only be used for Doctrine IF the Doctrine it can be supported by Old or New Testament as well. They differ from Catholics on the Trinity in that Catholicism believes that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and Son whereas Orthodox believes the Spirit proceeds only from the Father. They also allow priests to be married. They commemorate the Crucifixion on the date of the Passover on the calendar and "Easter" two days later. They are into mysticism such as the stillness prayer of hesychasm. Veneration of saints.
